A man was shot by police inside the Bay Pines VA Hospital in St. Petersburg, Fla., on Friday. Preliminary reports say the man died.
ABC Action News reported on the shooting around 5:43 p.m., according to its Twitter feed.
The station said that a man was shot inside the emergency room. He walked into the room and claimed he had weapon, possibly a bomb, and then became combative.
Police quickly responded and shot him.
Fox Tampa and WFLA-TV both reported that the man died after he got treatment.
The emergency room was evacuated after the incident.
