At least five people were stabbed at the Lone Star community college campus in Houston on Tuesday. Police arrested one suspect in connection with the assaults.

Some reports said that as many as eight people were injured. One person is said to be critically wounded.

“Two armed suspects at LSC-CyFair. One suspect is at large. Stay away from the area. Seek shelter in a secure location until the incident is resolved. Be aware of your surroundings,” read an alert from the college, according to ABC News.

“If you have reason to believe that the suspect is in or near your location, notify LSC Police ... if it is safe to do so. Updates on the situation will follow as new and confirmed information becomes available,” the statement continued.

Alan Bernstein of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office says authorities have a suspect in custody following a Tuesday morning attack at the Lone Star campus in Cypress. Bernstein did not know how many people were hurt or conditions.

Victims were seen being loaded into medical helicopters.

A different Lone Star system campus in north Harris County was the site of a shooting in January. Two people were wounded, and a 22-year-old man was charged with aggravated assault.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
