As a Field Producer for NTD team covering around Washington, DC, including Capitol Hill, The White House, and various other government agencies, your primary role will be to oversee the production of television content related to legislative activities, hearings, policy debates, and live events.Duties
- Content Development: Generating story ideas, conducting research, and staying updated on legislative developments to identify newsworthy topics for coverage. - Coordination: Collaborating with reporters, camera operators, and other team members to plan and execute coverage of Congress, including interviews, live broadcasts, and news segments. - Production Oversight: Managing all aspects of production, including scheduling, scriptwriting, directing, video editing and coordinating logistics. - Storytelling: Ensuring compelling storytelling through effective editing, graphics, and visual elements to engage viewers and provide clear understanding of complex legislative topics. - Quality Control: Monitoring content quality, adhering to journalistic standards, fact-checking, and ensuring accuracy and fairness in reporting.Job Requirements
- Experience: A proven track record as a field producer in broadcast journalism, preferably with experience in political reporting or coverage of legislative bodies. - Knowledge: Strong understanding of congressional procedures, legislative processes, and the political landscape. - Organizational Skills: Excellent time management abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. - Communication Skills: Effective written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to collaborate and interact professionally with team members, politicians, and other stakeholders. - Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with television production equipment, software, and editing tools is highly desirable. - Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and adherence to journalistic integrity. - Flexibility: Willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and during major legislative events or breaking news situations.Pay Range
The pay range for this role is between $50,000 and $80,000. The quoted salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what our candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range accordingly to the selected candidate’s experience, locations, technical skills, and other factors.
