Extending Canada’s Diplomatic Reach

Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird and U.K. Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs William Hague answer questions about a plan for Canada and the U.K. to share diplomatic missions abroad. The plan could see the two countries operating out of the same embassy, a move that has critics questioning the long-term impacts on Canada’s international reputation given the U.K.’s colonial history that is still disparaged in some countries.
