The Emmy Award ratings reached an all-time low—down 2 percent from the 2016 show.
According to Deadline.com, the Emmys “were knocked down to a new low—at least in the early numbers,” getting an 8.2 in metered market ratings.
The show, which was hosted by Stephen Colbert, dropped below the 2016 Emmy rating, which had held the all-time low.
In 2016, the Emmys got an 8.4 in metered market ratings. In the coveted 18-49 age group, the show got a 2.8, noted The Hollywood Reporter.
“The CBS telecast is currently averaging a 2.2 rating in adults 18-49 and 9.6 million total viewers in the fast-national ratings,” said Variety.
The “Sunday Night Football” game between Green Bay and Atlanta drew a 6.4 and 18.5 million viewers, along with a 12.6 rating in metered markets, according to reports.
