SAN FRANCISCO—Marketing professional and former TV producer, Della Lowe, who has won two Emmy Awards for her work, was impressed by the dancing in Shen Yun Performing Arts when she saw the performance Sunday afternoon at the SHN Orpheum Theatre.
“I think this was spectacular choreography; it’s really well done. It’s lovely,” Ms. Lowe said. “I really think my favorite part is the female dancers; they’re just so beautiful.”
The performance was the first Shen Yun production Ms. Lowe had seen, and she was also impressed with the variety of artistry including the colorfully animated backdrops and orchestra.
“The use of multimedia is very interesting,” she said. “I was a television producer for a long time, so I look at those things ... The production values are phenomenal.”
She said Shen Yun’s unique orchestra, which combines European and classical Chinese instruments, was wonderful.
“I love that type of combination,” she said.
Based in New York, Shen Yun’s mission is to revive 5,000 years of Chinese civilization through music and classical Chinese dance.
Ms. Lowe enjoyed what she learned about Chinese culture, saying that she does Buddhist meditation and found the traditional Chinese culture portrayed in Shen Yun to be “very spiritual.”
