HONG KONG—There were four HKFA Premier League games this weekend, Kitchee playing Glory Sky Wong Tai Sin at Mongkok Stadium, Kwoon Chung Southern opposing BC Rangers at Aberdeen Sports Ground, Dreams Metro Gallery facing South China at Sham Shui Po Sports Ground, and Eastern tackling Yuen Long at Mongkok Stadium.
In Saturday’s (Apr 2) first game, Kwoon Chung Southern opened the lead in the 48th minute after a goalless first half, when Diego Garrido headed in Wellingsson da Souza’s cross, whilst BC Rangers equalised in the 68th minute when Quentin Lendresse headed home. Kwoon Chung Southern regained the lead in the 80th minute when Oliveir Ngue finished from close range from a ball from Jonathan Carrill, and extended their lead in the 83rd minute when Wellingsson Da Souza scored from another Jonathan Carrill pass. Although BC Rangers pulled a late goal back when Quentin Lendresse added a second for BC Rangers, Kwoon Chung Southern ran out 3-2 victors.
In Saturday’s other game, Kitchee took a 2 goal lead through Rufino Sgovia and Alexandre Akande and, although Glory Sky Wong Tai Sin pulled a goal back through Liu Pui-fung, won the game 2-1.
In Sunday’s (Apr 3) first game South China prevailed against Dreams Metro Gallery courtesy of a 14th minute winner when Ryan Griffiths headed in Law Hiu-chung’s corner kick.
In Sundays other game Eastern put away Yuen Long 3-nil to cement their position as league title favourites. Eastern opened the scoring in the 18th minute when Diego Moreira scored after the Yuen Long defence failed to clear Michel Lugo’s cross, extended their lead in the 64th minute when Andrew Barisic scored from long range after dispossessing a defender, and Giovane Da Silva sealed the 3-nil victory in the 79th minute converting Cheng King-ho’s cross.
With just two games to play Eastern lead the Premier League with 35 points, Kitchee are second with 31 and South China are third on 26 points all from 14 matches. The League Cup final between Kitchee and South China will be played this Saturday April 9 at Mongkok Stadium.
HKFA FIRST DIVISION—In the first division, Citizen drew nil-all with Kwun Tong, HKFC were 6-nil winners against Kwai Tsing, Yau Tsim Mong were 3-1 victors over Easyknit Property, Sun Hei won 7-nil against Metro Gallery Sun Source, Tai Po were 5-2 winners against Double Flower, Tai Chung won 4-3 against Sha Tin, and Wanchai were 1-nil victors over Lucky Mile.
Tai Po lead the table with 55 points from 22 matches, with HKFC second with 47 points from the same games, and Sun Hei third with 46 points from 21 games.
HKFA SECOND DIVISION—In the second division, Eastern District drew 2-all with Kowloon City, Tung Sing were 4-2 winners against Happy Valley, Sparta Rotterdam Mutual drew nil-all with Kwok Keung, Sham Shui Po were 1-nil victors against Tsuen Wan, Tuen Mun FC were 4-nil winners against Kwong Wah, and Tuen Mun won 2-1 against Sai Kung.
Eastern District lead the division with 40 points from 18 matches, with Tung Sing second on 39 points from the same games, and Sparta Rotterdam Mutual third with 38 points from the same matches.
HKFA THIRD DIVISION—In the third division Central & Western were 5-1 victors over KCDRSC, Fukien drew 1-all with GFC Friends, Rex Global North District won 4-nil against KCC, Ornament were 3-1 victors over Telecom, Hoi King were 4-nil winners against New Fair Kui Tan, Wing Go Fu Moon were 2-1 victors over Islands, St Josephs were 3-nil winners against HKFYG, and Sun International won 3-1 against King Mountain.
Central & Western lead the table with 65 points from 24 matches, with Hoi King second with 60 points from 23 games.
Yau Yee League
In the first division Albion won 2-nil against Wanderers in the Sports Road derby, virtually extinguishing their title challenge, Colts were 4-1 victors over HKU70’s, USRC were 4-1 winners against KCC Dragons, GAS were 3-nil victors against Swiss XI, and The Store House Squadron won 5-2 against Baker Tilly Spartans.
GAS lead the division with 47 points from 18 games, virtually ensuring the championship, with Wanderers and Albion joint second with 41 points from the same games.
In the second division, Azzurri were 2-1 victors over University, Colloids FC were 3-nil winners against Boca Seniors, WYFC06 won 2-1 against IES, French Kiss drew 1-all against The Store House Hearts, and KCC Knights were 2-1 victors over Antonhill.
French Kiss lead the division with 44 points from 19 matches, with KCC Knights second with 40 points from 18 matches.
In the third division, ANP were 2-nil victors over White Youth, Dynamo were 2-nil winners against Goal Visio, HKSS won 2-nil against CAPS, HOB drew nil-all with Green Cypress FC, Yan Po drew 2-all with Grasshoppers, and HKUSA drew 1-all with CSOB.
ANP lead the division with 48 points from 20 games, with Dynamo second with 46 points from the same games.
In the fourth division, WYFC84 were 1-nil victors over Darts, Power 22 were 3-1 winners against Scorpions, Hung Art drew 1-all with Rising Sun, Outward Bound won 5-1 against Bapcoll, Friends of Barclays were 5-nil victors over Standard Chartered, and Maccabi HK were 6-nil winners against Skyline.
Maccabi HK lead the division with 55 points from 20 matches, with Friends of Barclays second with 49 points from the same matches.
