The Drudge Report made Texas Sen. Ted Cruz’s comments its focus on Sunday.
Cruz, according to the National Report, said that President Obama should take a vacation near the Texas-Mexico border to play golf.
“It almost seems like the PGA oughta put him on retainer,” he said in Dallas this weekend. “I don’t know about you, but I’ve never known anyone who plays that much golf. It’s almost like he doesn’t have a job, like he’s retired or something.”
Cruz also seems bent on continuing with his anti-Washington, DC message. “I spent last week in Washington, D.C,” he said. “It’s great to be back in America.”
Cruz also defended his moves in 2013 to try and shut down the federal government.
Obama’s “popularity has plummeted” because of his actions. “Any student of military history knows wars are not typically won in the first skirmish,” he also said.
According to ABC News, Cruz also touched on ISIS, or the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, and recent comments Obama made about the terror organization.
“I’m sure everyone was shocked to hear this,” Cruz said in a sarcastic manner, referring to Obama saying the US currently has no “strategy” in dealing with ISIS.
“America has always been reluctant to use military force, but we have never shied away from defending the United States of America,” Cruz added. “ISIS says they want to go back and reject modernity, well I think we should help them. We ought to bomb them back to the stone age.”
