NEW YORK— The double-decker tour bus driver who crashed into another tour bus in Times Square was previously arrested for issues with child support payment.
The Essex County N.J. Department of Corrections confirmed that the 58-year-old driver, William Dalambert, was arrested in 2008 and released the next day.
Dalambert was arrested at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, according to NYPD. He was charged for driving the Gray Line bus while under the influence of drugs.
The crash injured 14 people in Times Square. Officials say none of the injuries are life-threatening.
