Upcycling may seem like something that only hippies do, but in reality, it can be a great way to save money. You can even make a fair amount of money by doing this. What we see in this video is a gut taking a tire and working with it in order to turn it into a stool.
Working with less materials can be hard, but with a little bit of ingenuity, you do not have to spend a lot of money on fancy equipment. For instance, this guy makes a hole in a piece of wood, and uses that to make a perfect circle in pencil so he can cut around it. You can also do this with some string as well.
If you have spare of scrap wood lying around, you may be able to make this stool for little to no money, just using materials that other people would discard. This can both save you money, and help the environment, as you are preventing stuff from going to the landfill.
A lot of the material used, such as the wood and the fabric, can be taken from common things that are tossed in the trash, such as wood from an old bookshelf, or fabric that you can get from a couch, or a secondhand store. The items in this video look newly bought, but it is good to know that you can easily replace them and go green in the process.
There are many ways that humans can use their ingenuity to make something that looks unique and fascinating, and be able to help the environment in the process. All you need are a couple of basic tools, and even you will be able to help the environment in the long run.
