The NFL issued a two-game unpaid suspension to Detroit Lions All-Pro defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh on Tuesday for his actions in a Thanksgiving Day game against the Green Bay Packers.
Suh immediately appealed the suspension. “As a player, you have to appeal it. I am sure the NFLPA will be on his side to make sure that he gets a fair hearing,” his teammate Kyle Vanden Bosch, who is also the team’s union representative said according to AP.
Despite defiantly announcing his innocence after the game, Suh issued an apology on his Facebook page on Friday, but only apologized to his fans and his team, not the opposing player.
The Lions (7–4) are desperately hanging on to playoff hopes. Two games without their star defensive player could cost the Lions a shot at the post eason. The decision is expected to come on Sunday.
