BOCA RATON, Fla.—Authorities say a photo of money posted on the Snapchat social media app led to a home invasion and robbery in Boca Raton.
News outlets report a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office arrest report says an armed robber held a butcher’s knife to an 18-year-old man’s neck Jan. 28 and disappeared with $280.
Deputies say the two suspects knew to demand the cash because the victim had posted a photo of the money earlier in the day.
The victim told investigators he recognized one of the attackers’ voices, whom he identified as 21-year-old Faried Said.
Said was arrested Monday and faces charges of armed robbery with a deadly weapon and burglary to a dwelling or structure. It’s unclear whether Said has an attorney.
Authorities haven’t identified the other suspect.
