Daniel Bryan, the injured WWE star, may not return to wrestling for months despite initial reports that he would be returning soon.
Bryan, the one-time WWE World Heavyweight champion, was injured in May.
One rumor back in September was that he elected to heal naturally as opposed to getting another surgery--and that he would be back for Royal Rumble. Brie Bella confirmed the rumor while doing promotional work for Total Divas.
But now Brad Davis of SEScoops says that Bryan is seeing no improvement with his arm.
“Backstage at RAW from Atlanta, a lot of the talent was talking about the fact Bryan may be getting the ‘Tommy John Surgery,’” he said.
“The medical term for the procedure is as ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) reconstruction, a surgical graft procedure in which the ulnar collateral ligament in the medial elbow is replaced with a tendon from elsewhere in the body.”
If Bryant does get this surgery, he would be out for at least another six months.
He could never return to wrestling again.
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, though, said that while Bryant will need to get surgery because he’s not regaining strength in his arm, he could be back as soon as WrestleMania 31.
