In the last episode of the show, Waltrip attempted to kiss Slater but she turned away.
But the dance earned good reviews from the judges. “This was a very different approach, and it worked. You were composed and you were elegant,” Carrie Ann Inaba, one of the judges, told Michael. “This was authentic,” added Julianne Hough. “That is what works, honesty and being true to yourself.” The judges gave the team a 30 out of 40, and they avoided elimination once again.
Meanwhile, Waltrip spoke with USA Today in an interview about his performance on Dancing with the Stars, which airs Monday on ABC.
“I’m literally into that show right now. I’m not only into it, I’m on it. (Laughs) It’s definitely my favorite show right now,” he told the paper.
“It’s funny – I watch dancing on YouTube and I look forward to practicing dancing with Emma. Life is going to change pretty dramatically one of these Monday nights when they tell me, ‘Go home.’ Because if I’m not thinking about our race team and NASCAR and our boys over there, it’s dancing. One of those is getting ready to go away – maybe sooner rather than later, we'll see,” he said.
