Team Ballin', consisting of Palin, who is daughter of former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, and Mark Ballas were only bested by teams with Audrina Patridge and Jennifer Grey on Monday.
Bristol and Mark appeared at the very end of the competition, wowed the judges with a quickstep, using “You Can’t Hurry Love” by The Supremes as the background music. The couple earned 22 points.
Sarah Palin was in the audience cheering her daughter.
“It’s great to see all this courage, joy and exuberance,” Palin said in an interview with the show’s host Tom Bergeron before Bristol started her routine, according to the Associated Press.
Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough earned the highest score of 24. Even though she is 50-years-old, Grey did not show her age at all as she danced the jive with splendid footsteps and liveliness.
The second highest score went to a quickstep performed by the Hills actress Audrina Patridge and her partner Tony Dovolani.
Despite suffering from a cold last week, the actress kept practicing hard on the dance-floor with her partner before the second round kicked off on Monday.
Corey Bohan, Patridge´s boyfriend, cheered for her on Tuesday. “So proud of you babe!!!! Everyone get on the voting lines and help @AudrinaPatridge keep dancing,” tweeted Bohan.
For week three, each couple will be required to perform either a Paso Doble, also called the Spanish double-step or a Foxtrot.
The season concludes Nov. 23.
