Daddy Lumba is not dead, contrary to rumors that shocked people in Ghana.
Lumba, or Charles Kwadwo Fosu, is described by Ghana news site My Joy Online as “Ghana’s finest high life musician.”
On Friday, rumors started that Lumba had died on Thursday night.
Daddy Lumba is very sick, but he’s not dead.
“I’m not dead, I am alive by the special grace of God,” Daddy Lumba told SIKKA FM 89.5.
“I don’t know why anybody would wish me dead. I am alive and kicking by the grace of God. Nothing is wrong with me,” he added. “I want to tell all my fans in Kumasi that their favorite Lumba is still alive and well.”
Lumba said that it’s not the first time he has been rumored dead. The rumors likely come from him being a very quiet and private person, he said.
