Children around the country will soon be heading back to school. Deborah Stewart, who has her own blog called Teach Preschool, has some creative and healthy snacks ideas that don’t involve cooking.
They are all simple snacks that kids can have right after school, one of the things to keep in mind is that kids come home hungry after school so it is better if these snacks are ready. You can use your own creativity, to make these snacks interesting. Here are different ways to be creative like you can make a caterpillar with little kiwi slices, apple, pretzels and raisins, a tree with grapes and pretzels or a butterfly with gold fish and some grapes. With food coloring and milk you can paint your bread with the color of your choice and pop it into the toaster, and then add some butter or cinnamon.
The key is to make sure that you prepare things your kids like and also to make sure that it is light. Snack time is a time to talk to them about their day and how things went at school. Go ahead and give yourself permission to throw a few little treats too.
