The Dallas Cowboys will not add a veteran quarterback despite starting quarterback Tony Romo’s injured right hand, according to a report on NFL.com.
Romo bruised his right hand when it hit the helmet of Eagle’s defensive end Jason Babin, during the first quarter of the Cowboys loss to Philadelphia on Saturday. Romo was replaced by backup quarterback Stephen McGee who was unable to lead the team to any scoring drives until just seven seconds were left in the 20–7 loss.
Dallas head coach Jason Garrett confirmed X-rays of Romo’s hand were negative following the game.
Romo is currently fourth in the NFL in passer rating at 102.2. The 31-year-old has thrown for 3,895 yards and 29 touchdowns this season against just nine interceptions while completing 65.4 percent of his passes.
The Cowboys will travel to face the Giants this Sunday with the division title on the line.
