The Indianapolis Colts have named former Ravens defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano as their new head coach, according to a report on the team’s website.
For Pagano, 51, this will be his first head coaching experience. Prior to being promoted as Baltimore’s defensive coordinator for the 2011 season, Pagano served as the team’s secondary coach from 2008-10. Prior to coming to Baltimore, Pagano was North Carolina’s defensive coordinator.
Pagano may have his work cut out for him in Indianapolis. The Colts are coming off a 2-14 season—their worst since a 1-15 season in 1991. In addition, depending on the way new general manager Ryan Grigson shapes the roster, Indianapolis may be starting over at quarterback as four-time MVP Peyton Manning’s health status is up in the air.
