“For decades our guests could learn about these pieces and watch them being operated. Now they can really experience them – the weight, the smell, and the sound – not to mention how challenging their operation was for people whose lives often depended on it.”
The range will enable guests to prime and fire replicas of a “Brown Bess,” or a British short land musket used across the country during the American Revolution, and a fowling piece, a precursor of the modern shotgun that were often used for hunting.
Children as young as 14 will be allowed on the range, but those under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
The range will only be accessible by a shuttle.
Tickets are $199 per person, which includes instruction, safety equipment, firearms use, ammunition, and targets.
