Christmas Eve Sales: What’s Open on Christmas Eve, Christmas?

For a number of people, Christmas Eve (Tuesday, Dec. 24) might not even be a holiday from work, while some might still be looking to buy a last-minute gift for Christmas on Wednesday.

To look for restaurants and stores open on Christmas Day and Christmas Eve, UrbanSpoon and OpenTable are good places to start looking.

Here’s a few options for Christmas Eve, but remember to call your local locations to see if they’ll be closed:

Apple stores: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. for most stores on Christmas Eve

Walmart: Open Christmas Eve, but all stores closed Christmas Day.

Best Buy: Store hours will be from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Costco: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve

Kmart: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Christmas Eve

Lowe’s: The store will be open Christmas Eve

REI: Open Christmas Eve; check stores for hours. Closed on Christmas Day.

Target: Open 7 a.m. to 9 or 10 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

Staples: Open Christmas Eve, closed Christmas Day.

Whole Foods: Open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Christmas Eve; closed on Christmas.

IKEA: Open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. but closed on Christmas.

Toys “R” Us: The store closes Christmas Eve at 9 p.m. Closed on Christmas Day.

GAP: Closed Christmas Day, open Christmas Eve.

Macy’s: Open 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Christmas Eve; closed Christmas Day.

Home Depot: Closed on Christmas, open Christmas Eve.

Bed Bath & Beyond: Store hours vary on Christmas Eve, but closed on Christmas Day

 

Stores definitely open on Christmas Day. Also remember to call or check local listings for hours:

Starbucks: Coffee purveyor Starbucks will be open on Christmas Day and Christmas Eve. Local store hours might vary.

Walgreens / Duane Reade: On Christmas, it will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Some pharmacies might be open as well. (Duane Reade is part of the Walgreens family)

CVS: Most locations open Christmas Day; some are open 24 hours.

Denny’s: The restaurant chain will be open Christmas Day

McDonald’s: A number of locations are open on Christmas

IHOP: A number of locations will open on Christmas

7-Eleven: The chain will be open on Christmas with the same hours as usual.

Rite Aid: Will be open Christmas Day. Regular opening and closing times.

Family Dollar: Will be open on Christmas Day. Regular opening and closing times.

Circle K: Stores will be open on Christmas Day, most operating with regular hours.

QuikTrip: Stores will be open Christmas Day, with most operating with regular hours.
