Christie angry at clothes not fitting: New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has revealed that he was angry that clothes no longer fit him when he elaborated on his recent weight loss surgery.
“The things that really got me down, the moments where I would say to myself, ‘Why can’t I beat this? Why can’t I do better?’, it would be when I'd be going out with Mary Pat on a Friday night or Saturday night,” Christie told The Record newspaper of New Jersey. Mary Pat Christie is his wife.
“I’d be changing out of my professional clothes ... and would go to casual clothes that I didn’t wear a lot, and then something wouldn’t fit,” he added. “That’s when I’d really be angry with myself.”
A week ago, Christie said that he quietly underwent gastric band surgery, but the public’s reaction, he added, was “absolutely insane and over the top.”
“It’s not as simple as, ‘Push yourself away from the table and you’ll be fine,’ ” Christie said.
Earlier this week, Christie and Britain’s Prince Harry visited areas in New Jersey that were hit by Hurricane Sandy.
Christie gave Harry a copy of the governor’s famous blue fleece.
“Greeting Prince Harry at the Jersey Shore the best way I know how; with his own Royal Fleece,” Christie wrote on Twitter, reported the New York Daily News.
