Chris Bukowski and Elise Mosca are no longer together, breaking up less than two months after Chris asked Elise to leave Bachelor in Paradise with him.

Chris left Mexico because of a knee injury, and Elise accepted his invitation to leave with him to pursue their budding romance.

But it turns out that they broke up soon after they left the show.

Bukowski told the blog Cupids Pulse that Mosca stayed with him in Chicago for six days, and that they dated for about a month after that.

But the relationship ultimately didn’t work out.

“I broke it off because we were at two very different points in our lives,” Chris said. “I wasn’t confident that Elise was the right girl for me and didn’t want to lead her on to believe anything different.”

Chris did have nice things to say about Elise, though.

“It’s tough for me to hear people say she’s crazy when she’s only crazy about falling in love,” he explains. “She’s a nice, genuine girl, and I’ve never heard anyone who knows her say a bad thing about her. She’s very caring and will make someone very lucky one day … as long as she lays off the sequin outfits!”

Sources told the blog that Chris and Elise were flown back to Mexico before filming on the Bachelor spinoff ended, so they could update everyone on their relationship, but the situation never played out, primarily because producers were pressuring Chris to propose. That ordeal may have contributed to the split.

Mosca previously defended her decision to leave the show with Bukowski, telling ABC

“I came to paradise to leave with someone, to have a boyfriend, to start something. I don’t want to spoil anything, but if leaving with Chris was the first step of that, I was willing to take it and I’m glad I did.”

“I was excited and felt honored that he wanted me to meet his family and see his hometown,” she explained. “At the end of the day if I didn’t leave with Chris, I would always be wondering what would have happened if I didn’t go with him. That made him special, that he wanted me to meet his family and take the next steps in our relationship.”

Elise hasn’t publicly commented on the split with Chris.
