During his appearance in Beijing for this year’s Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, Russian president Vladimir Putin seems to have put the moves on China’s first lady, Peng Liyuan, by putting his coat over her shoulders.
Or at least that’s how state-run media appears to see it.
At the Nov. 10-11 summit, at which 21 countries are represented, Mr. Putin sat in a row together with Chinese regime head Xi Jinping and his wife, Peng Liyuan.
As the trio entered and were seated, Peng and the Russian president could be seen exchanging a few words, whereupon Putin draped a tan coat over the first lady’s person.
Seconds later, now seated, Peng removed the coat and handed it to an aide.
The video, broadcasted and posted by multiple Chinese media, was censored within hours.
A copy of the video can still be found on Youtube. The video sharing site is banned in China, however.
Social media sites, where the incident was hashtagged as “Putin Gives Peng Liyuan His Coat,” were no exception.
