A website belonging to a Chinese Communist Party (CCP) branch in one district of the northern city of Dalian was vandalized on April 18. It is unclear whether the defacement was carried out by external hackers or internal saboteurs.

The second and fifth pictures in a spinning carousel, common on Party websites in China, showed pictures attacking the CCP. The second picture said in English “Chinese Communist Party Rots in Hell,” with the last three words in bold. The fifth picture, in a large and crude Chinese font, simply said “Take Down the Chinese Communist Party!!”
