During the Aeroshow in Chihuahua, Mexico, Saturday evening, a modified pick-up truck crashed into spectators, killing eight and injuring 80, reports CBC.
The BBC earlier reported six dead, adding that at least one of the six was a child.
The monster truck seemed to have lost control after performing a demolition stunt, officials said. A mechanical error may be to blame. The driver may have been unable to release the accelerator.
Some witnesses say the driver’s helmet came off during the stunt and he may have hit his head, according to Sky News.
