At least eight people were killed and another 43 people were injured in shootings across Chicago over the weekend.
The shootings spanned from late Friday, Sept. 23, to early Monday, Sept. 26. One of the fatal shootings took place in downtown Chicago near Millennium Park at around 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Peter Fabbri, 54, was walking with two others when he got into an argument with a man, who pulled out a gun and shot him in the head. He was pronounced dead at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, at 5:53 p.m. Sunday, police said, according to ABC7.
The weekend’s most recent homicide took place on Sunday morning at 4:30 a.m., when a 28-year-old man was fatally shot in the South Side Calumet Heights neighborhood. He was pronounced dead about a half and hour later at Trinity Hospital, police said.
