Actress Blake Lively attended a dinner hosted in her honour by Chanel on Mar. 5 during Paris Fashion Week. Also in attendance were Karl Lagerfeld, Chanel’s creative director, and Vogue editor Anna Wintour and her daughter Bee Shaffer.
Lively became Chanel’s new brand ambassador for the French fashion house’s Mademoiselle handbag line in early January. Lagerfeld photographed the 23-year-old “Gossip Girl” star for the new advertising campaign.
Lively told Women’s Wear Daily that she has been a long-time fan of Chanel: “It is timeless, chic, graceful, intelligent, iconic, and ever relevant.”
Others attending the dinner include jewellery designer Lorraine Schwartz, actor Justin Long, and Lively’s parents, Elaine and Ernie Lively.
“Fashion was always part of her life because we were a family of shopaholics,” Elaine Lively told the New York Times. “In junior high, she wanted to go shopping all the time at Forever 21. It was a big deal to go to Bebe and Guess.”
Other famous faces in Chanel campaigns include Keira Knightley, Nicole Kidman, Audrey Tautou, Claudia Schiffer, and Diane Kruger.
