The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) held its star-studded 2014 Fashion Awards at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall, and the best and brightest in the industry hit the rainbow carpet!
Diane von Furstenberg, CFDA president: “It’s an award you get from your colleagues, so it feels more important who gets it.” Among other famous designers was also Donna Karan: “I love seeing industry comes together. It’s kind of a time we all collaborate together and celebrate a year of fashion.”
Designers were also presenting their best pieces. Zac Posen presented his long sleeve dress saying “sometimes is nice not to show skin”.
Designer Stacey Bendet: “I’m proud member of the CFDA and I think it is just the most amazing night of supporting and bringing recognition to all designers that are in this industry.”
Everybody was talking about Rihanna, not just because she won Fashion Icon of the year award. She was walking the red carpet in a see-through gown that was encrusted with 216,000 Swarovski crystals.
Diane von Furstenberg said about her: “Rihanna is the hottest girl around.”
