Cathy’s Tuesday Tip: Let a Bold Rug Become The Focal Point!

When decorating a room, it’s important to choose a focal point - otherwise, the eye doesn’t know where to go first! Having a focal point can create a sense of balance and really brings a room together.

Your focal point can be anything - from a piece of artwork to a table centerpiece. But have you considered using a bold statement rug as the focal point of a room?

The trick to using bold patterned rugs is to really let them do the talking - in other words, keep the rest of your decor neutral! Notice how this zebra rug really pops and draws the eye, while the rest of the room remains understated:

This room incorporated a little more color. The modern rug immediately draws the eye, and is complimented by the color throw pillow as well as the wall art:

For an even bolder statement, try a rug in bright color - such as this burnt orange - and that also has an interesting texture!
