Carmelo Anthony scored 30 or more Sunday (34) for the fifth time this season as the Knicks (12-4) held off a late Phoenix (7-11) run to win 106–99 at Madison Square Garden.
Anthony scored eight of the Knicks first 19 points as New York ran out to a 21–6 lead mid-way through the first quarter.
The Knicks would extend the lead to as much as 20 points in the third quarter before Phoenix fought back. The Suns started the fourth quarter on a 13–2 run, keyed by eight points from Sebastian Telfair to cut the lead to 91–85. They would get no closer than six though.
Raymond Felton finished with 23 points, seven assists, and no turnovers as the Knicks were without injured point guard (back spasms) Jason Kidd for the third straight game.
