Carlita Kilpatrick, the wife of former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, has reportedly lost the lease on her Texas home after she lost her job.

The Detroit Free Press reported that Kilpatrick, whose husband is in prison after he was convicted of charges including extortion, bribery, and racketeering, lost the lease on her family’s mansion, which is around 5,000 square feet in size.

Neighbors told the Press that her furniture, belongings, and some other items were placed on the curb outside the home, which is located in Grand Prairie, Texas.

The family officially moved out of the home that they rented for more than $2,500 a month. It is unclear where Kilpatricks family has moved, but the family’s church is reportedly helping them.

“There was a lot of furniture. It was a lot of stuff there … the kind of stuff that you keep,” said neighbor Malinda Carter.

Kilpatrick recently lost her job working for the City of Duncanville, Texas.

ClickonDetroit.com reported that she was seen by neighbors taking items from the home and putting them on the curb.

Earlier this year, a federal jury found former Mayor Kilpatrick and his friend Bobby Ferguson guilty. Kilpatrick pleaded with the judge to let him go and see his family. This month, the former mayor asked for a new trial because his former lawyer, James Thomas, had a conflict of interest.

Kilpatrick also recnetly complained about his prison conditions.

MLive.com reported that he had a lack of ice and had not been getting enough exercise while in prison.

“I have two torn quadriceps, a torn tendon. They’re going to drill inside of my knee cap. I’m terrified, by the way... I’m terrified of rehabilitating in that detention center,” Kilpatrick said in a hearing in May.

The U.S. Attorney’s office has said that Kilpatrick will likely be sentenced to 20 years in prison.
