Labyrinth Theater Company will hold a public candlelight vigil in honor of the late Philip Seymour Hoffman on Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. Hoffman was a company member and former artistic director of the New York City theater company. In an announcement about the vigil, the company said they were deeply saddened by the loss of the late actor, who passed away on the weekend.

“We are overwhelmed and touched by the outpouring of support we’ve received over the past few days,” said the statement. “All of us at Labyrinth are heartbroken by the loss of our beloved friend.”

They called Hoffman “a friend, leader, and an extraordinary artist whose lasting impact on Labyrinth will never be forgotten.”

The vigil will be on Wednesday, February 5th at 6:30p.m. in the courtyard of the Bank Street Theater at 155 Bank Street. The prayer will be lead by Labyrinth Company member Fr. Jim Martin.

Other plans for a memorial ceremony to honor Hoffman will be announced later.
