Camp Pendleton Fire: Smoke Seen Near San Diego California Marines Base; Not Threatening Fallbrook

A brush fire was seen near the Camp Pendleton Marines base in Southern California on Wednesday morning.

KUSI News reported at around 10 a.m. that the fire was spotted.

According to NBC, the CHP is closing two northbound lanes of I-5 due to the fire.

The fire is threatening Fallbrook and is about 30 acres in size.

The northbound lanes of I-5 north at the San Onofre checkpoint have been shut down due to fire at Camp Pendleton, reports have indicated.

The fire is not threatening Fallbrook, 10 News said.

The weather for the region on Wednesday has been predicted to be hot, dry, and windy.
