Diaz posted a makeup-free selfie on her Instagram page to promote her new project, “The Longevity Book.” The lifestyle book is a follow up to her New York Times best-seller, “The Body Book.”
“I wanted to write this book so that we could understand what aging really is. And what I found was aging isn’t about getting old it’s about LIVING,” wrote the 43-year-old actress on her website. “I want you to live the happiest longest and healthiest life possible. To do that you need to be informed.”
In a 2014 interview with Oprah Winfrey, Diaz expressed excitement about turning 40. “I feel that aging is a privilege. It’s something I feel very honored that I get to do.”
For the “Annie” actress, aging is welcomed by maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and the Harper Collins published book, aims to be a guide for women all over the world.
“If you understand how your body works then you can take action to help keep it in the best possible condition so it can carry you through a long and beautiful life,” she wrote in the caption of her makeup free selfie.
She continued on to say via her website, “So let’s start celebrating and living an engaged life, and stop punishing ourselves for not looking a certain way, and instead holding ourselves accountable for actually taking care of ourselves inside first, knowing the results on the exterior will be a shining side effect. Choose to be informed, choose to be healthy and happy.”
