Police are looking for a couple suspected of murdering a California woman and taking off with her three children, according to local reports.
Warrants have been issued for Joshua Aaron Robertson, 27, and Brittany Humphrey, 22, the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department said in a news release on Aug. 24.
Robertson and Humphrey are accused of killing Kimberly Harvill, Humphrey’s sister. Harvill’s body was discovered on Aug. 14 by a motorist on Gorman Post Road, just north of the 138 Freeway, in the unincorporated Lebec area.
The pair were last seen with Harvill’s three young children—2-year-old Joslynn Watkins, 3-year-old Brayden Watkins and 5-year-old Rylee Watkins—and are believed to be in possession of the victim’s green 1999 Ford Expedition bearing California license plates 7BEK024, or temporary plates.
The vehicle is described as having a rear sticker that reads: “R.I.P. Chad Watkins,” a rear sticker of a six-person stick-figure family, and camouflage duct tape on the outside base of the SUV.
“Help us get those kids home. We need them home because they’ve got a life that they should be able to live,” said the godfather of the three children, Tso Yanez, reported KABC. “I’m at a loss as to why this all went down, what actually happened.”
According to police, the suspects should be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached if seen in public.
Robertson “is on post-release community supervision and has a previous arrest for possession of a firearm,” according to the news release.
Humphrey is described as white, 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 120 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes. Robertson is described as white, 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 170 pounds, with blond hair, blue eyes and tattoos on his right arm.
