Duarte High School and Northview Intermediate School in Duarte, California are no longer on lockdown after a threat on Tuesday.
A threatening call was received at 1:45 p.m., prompting the lockdown.
“Anonymous male called LASD [Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department] Duarte Sheriff’s substation & threatened to shoot students at Duarte High School,” said the department via Twitter.
Northview was on lockdown too, but both campuses have been cleared.
“High School and Northview campuses cleared. Students are now being released in the normal fashion. Parents may pick up as normal,” said the city via Twitter.

Parents were asked earlier go to the Best Buy parking lot (Central and Mtn. Avenues) to wait for students.
Students communicating with other students via Twitter didn’t seem concerned about the potential threat.
“Yay were in a Lock down no 6th period for me so that means no quiz!!! Hahaha,” said one.
“Why announce you’re gonna shoot the school why not just do it??” said another.
However, some tweets were serious.
“Just got news that there really is someone wit a gun yo,” said one student.
