Los Angeles Lakers center Andrew Bynum blocked 10 shots while adding 13 points and 10 rebounds Sunday as the Lakers downed Denver 103–88 in Game One of their first round matchup.
The 7-foot Bynum’s 10 blocked shots tie an NBA playoff record while the triple-double is the first by a Laker in the playoffs in 21 years.
Kobe Bryant added 31 points and 7-foot forward Pau Gasol added 13 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists as the taller Lakers never trailed en route to taking a 1-0 series lead in the best-of-seven round matchup.
Laker forward Devin Ebanks started replacing suspended Ron Artest, who still has five more games to serve before he can play after elbowing James Harden of Oklahoma City last week.
Game Two will be Tuesday night.
