MONTREAL—Business owners Andre and Lindy Wong shared the same impression of Shen Yun Performing Arts after watching the Jan. 5 matinee performance at Place des Arts: It was perfect.

“The show was made very professionally. All the details were there—the costumes, the people, the art—everything you need to make it perfect,” said Mr. Wong.

“Everything is perfect,” agreed Mrs. Wong.

The couple, owners of a commercial cleaning business in Montreal, attended the show for the first time on Saturday and said they will definitely come back next year.

Mr. Wong, whose father is Chinese and whose mother is Canadian, said it was clear Shen Yun’s artists had put in a tremendous amount of work and training to achieve their level of perfection.

“The [artists] must work very hard,” he said. “I’ve seen many shows before, but never like that,” he added.

New York-based Shen Yun was formed by overseas Chinese artists in 2006 with a mission to revive 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture through the medium of classical Chinese music and dance.

Ms. Wong enjoyed the trilingual emcees who introduced each dance before it plays out on stage.

“They’re very lively, very good,” she said, adding that all aspects of the production were well done.

“The choreography was perfect, sound effects, lighting—I liked it very much.”

Mr. Wong appreciated the detail in the handcrafted costumes, noting that the colours were more vivid and harmonious than any other show he had seen.
