An airport worker at the Brussels airport is being hailed as a hero after pulling seven victims of the terror attacks to safety on March 22.

Alphonse Youla was working on a stand, putting security wrapping around suitcases, when he heard—and felt—the explosions.

[A] picture showed him outside the airport covered in blood following his heroic actions.

“I saw people lying on the ground with a lot of blood who weren’t moving anymore,” Youla explained to the Wall Street Journal, adding that he helped carry injured people into elevators to get them away from the scene.

Twitter users praised Youla, with one saying: “Well done Alphonse you are a true hero.”
