Browns Hire Jim Brown: The Cleveland Browns hired NFL Hall of Famer Jim Brown, who led the team to championship in 1964 and is considered one of the greatest running backs ever, according to a report on Tuesday.

Brown reportedly had a falling-out with the team’s former management, but since new owner Jimmy Haslam took over, it has emerged that Brown would be involved in the team. He was fired by former President Mike Holmgren in 2010 and has not been affiliated with the organization since then.

Brown will be introduced in a new role with the team by Haslam, sources told ESPN Cleveland.

“It’s going to be a full time … as much as he can do,” a source told the network. “It’s not 10 years ago, in terms of Jim. That flight (from Brown’s home in Los Angeles) … flying back and forth is a little difficult now. But his presence is important.”

It is unclear what role Brown will play with the team.

“I would love to have a role with the Browns,” Brown told The Associated Press.

He added: “I think that’s what every ex-player would like to do most of all, to be a contributor to the success of an organization. I’m stuck with being No. 32 of the Cleveland Browns and I can’t do anything about it. I don’t want to do anything about it. If you didn’t like the ball, that’s one thing. You’re not going to always like my politics, but we are married because of that history. If I can be a part of the development of a new winning attitude and help get some victories, man that would be fantastic.”

Over his career, Brown accumulated 12,312 rushing yards and 106 touchdowns.
