The Denver Broncos have officially put all their eggs in Tebow’s basket, announcing Tuesday that they waived quarterback Kyle Orton.
Orton was named the starter for the season for the Broncos, but lost those duties to Tim Tebow after losing three of his first four games. His passer rating was 75.7 and had eight touchdowns to seven interceptions.
Head Coach John Fox said in a statement, “This was the right decision for our football team. We feel good about our quarterback group, and this gives Kyle an opportunity to help another team and showcase his talents.”
Ironically enough, that team could be the Chicago Bears, the team Orton was traded to for Jay Butler, who is done for the season with a broken thumb. Let the trade rumors begin.
