In another email, he told Podesta that he’s been in touch with an official who was involved in the incident in Roswell, New Mexico—in which the U.S. government allegedly recovered an alien craft in 1947. The U.S. government has said it was a weather balloon.

The singer said he had been talking with Maj. Gen. William McCasland, who served in the Air Force.

“He mentioned he’s a ’skeptic', he’s not … He just has to say that out loud, but he is very, very aware—as he was in charge of all of the stuff,” DeLonge wrote in the email. “When Roswell crashed, they shipped it to the laboratory at Wright Patterson air force base. Gen McCasland was in charge of that exact laboratory up to a couple years ago.”

It’s not clear whether Podesta responded to the singer’s emails.
