Scientists are still not sure what this creature is, although it kind of looks like a cross between a mammoth and a dolphin or whale. But it also has a beak.

According to the Siberian Times, the creature was quite large, about twice the length of a human being. It had a nose like a “bird’s beak.” A number of locals took photos of the thing.

Some people have said the carcass was of a Ganges River dolphin, which are generally found in India.

However, it was found on the shore of Sakhalin Island, a remote area that is closest to Alaska.

“According to a characteristic of the skin, it is a rare species,”said Nikolay Kim, deputy head of the Forecasting Department at the Sakhalin Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography, according to the Express paper.

He believes it’s a “big dolphin,” and he added: “According to a characteristic of the skin, it is a rare species.”

“I doubt that it lived in our waters. Most likely, the animal was brought by a warm current,” he said. “We often get tropical and subtropical species here and when they cool down they stay here and then die.

“I can confidently say that this is some kind of a dolphin.”

“However, it has fur. It’s unusual. Dolphins do not have any fur.”
