Here’s a shortlist of the best and worst dressed at the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards that aired on August 25, 2014.

First off is Debra Messing who will be starring as a detective in an upcoming crime/comedy series “The Mysteries of Laura.” Messing wore an Angel Sanchez dark navy blue gown, which was edgy and chic. Her fire-red side curls complimented the color of the dress as well.

Another celebrity on point was Sofia Vergara who never disappoints with her choice of dress. Her Roberto Cavalli structured white gown with silver cutouts and paired up with Lorraine Schwartz jewels made her sparkle.

“Breaking Bad” star Anna Gunn looked her best on the red carpet with her simple one shouldered gown. The high slit of the blue skirt and the patterned white top were glamorous and appropriate.

January Jones showed up in a red Prabal Gurung pattered gown with a high-low hemline. She’s one of the many stars who wore red to the awards ceremony. Jones also sported black Louis Vuitton stilettos with straps.

Hayden Panettiere wore a fitted sequined chiffon gown from Lorena Sarbu’s Fall 2014 collection, showing off her baby bump. That evening she revealed to E! News that her first child will be a girl.

Julia Roberts wore an Elie Saab Couture dark sea blue knee-high dress. Large beads in the same colored covered the long-sleeve dress.

Some of the worst dressed include Katherine Heigl, who sported a golden vintage Parisian silk John Hayles gown that made her look a little too old for her age.

Others who didn’t quite score high on the fashion that night include: Laura Prepon, Taryn Manning, Sarah Paulson, and Lena Dunham.
