NEW YORK—Eco-friendly fashion took center stage as Brooklyn Fashion Weekend kicked off at Industry City in Sunset Park on Feb. 28.
Bright colors, quirky silhouettes, and whimsical prints dominated the night, proving that eco-friendly fashion is far from being limited to beige and boring.
While the event has always celebrated environmentally conscious designers, this year’s opening night theme was all about green. Luis Valenzuela, fashion designer and the founder of EcoArtFashion, hosted the evening and showcased his latest collection.
Other designers included dog couture designer Anthony Rubid and Slovenian designer Sanja Grcic. The 15th season also featured the designs from students at Maxwell high school.
The Epoch Times spent some time backstage to get an insight into what happens before the models hit the runway.
