The ballots for the 2012 Baseball Hall of Fame Class were distributed Wednesday for voting.
Among the players still eligible for induction are former MVP Barry Larkin, former World Series MVP Jack Morris, former all-time saves leader Lee Smith, and four-time All-Star Jeff Bagwell.
In addition, controversial names like Mark McGwire and Rafael Palmeiro are on the ballot, though voters have been reluctant to vote for players who were suspected of using performance-enhancing drugs.
Among the first-timers on the ballot are catcher Javy Lopez, outfielder Tim Salmon, and former Yankee outfielder Bernie Williams.
Players become eligible five years after retiring and can be on the ballot for up to 15 seasons—provided they gather at least five percent of the voting.
Larkin, who played his entire 19-year career in Cincinnati, garnered 62.2 percent of the vote last year and may be the only candidate to receive the requisite 75 percent needed for induction.
