Hybrids rule the day at the Le Mans 24, as André Lotterer’s #1 Audi R18 e-tron Quattro leads by 1:50 seconds over teammate Tom Kristensen in the #2 e-tron, with Lôic Duval in the #3 R18 Ultra third, 2:15 further back..     

The hybrid Toyotas of Nicolas Lapierre and Sebastien Buremi run fourth and fifth, with the final Audi R18 Ultra seventh.

Nick Heidfeld has the #13 Rebellion Lola-Toyota is sixth, the fastest of the privateer P1.

Duval lost time pitting for a right rear puncture, and Mike Rockenfeller brought the #4 Audi Ultra into the pits with a vibration, the car went to the garage, losing a lap, but rejoined and has run with no problem.

The #16 Pescarolo 03 blew a motor on the warm-up laps; the crew changed the engine in two hours, but had to repit in a couple laps. The team is still fighting to get the car back on track. The #17 Dome also had to pit with transmission issues but rejoined.

The quickest-qualifying privateer P1, the Straka Racing HPD, didn’t make the start because of a transmission leak but did join six laps late, and is now running 47th.

The DeltaWing didn’t make it 30 laps before it had to head to the garage with transmission issues; that crew too is working hard to get back on track.

Olivier Pla in the #24 Oak racing Morgan Judd leads comfortably in P2, 33 seconds ahead of Tom Kimvber-Smith in the Starworks HPD-03b. The pole-sitting ADR-Delta is eighth in class.

In GTE-Pro Darren Turner in the #97 Aston Martin has been trading the lead with Tom Milner in the #74 Corvette.

Flying Lizard has had a mixed race. The #80 GTE-Pro entry went off, breaking its rear suspension, but the #79 GTE-Am car, with Spencer Pumpelly at the wheel, is leading the class.GTE-Am
