You may not have considered make up an art form, but let’s just see if Tal Peleg can change your mind.
After finishing her visual communication studies, Peleg had a hard time picking her path.
Perhaps a designer? Or an illustrator?
Yet there was one passion that had stayed with her since childhood—make up.
“Since I was a little girl I liked to experiment with makeup,” she told Epoch Times via email. “I always thought that makeup is an amazing and very expressive form of art.”
And so she decided to mix design, illustration, and make up together.
First, she created some more abstract works, but gradually she has found her niche in illustrative make up art. And, as you can see, she just ran with it.
“I always felt like makeup is so much more than just a way to make girl prettier,” she said. “It’s a form of art and great and creative things can be done with it.”
She usually uses her own eyes as a canvass and takes about 1.5 to 5 hours to complete one artwork.
“I’ve been painting and creating ever since I can remember myself, and I’m a huge art history geek,” she said. “For me, art is a way to express myself and give unique interpretations to feelings, or things that I find interesting in this world.”
Her ideal is “to always have artistic freedom and to create from a true expressive inner place and not just to make other people satisfied.”
