APR Motorsports will reintroduce its Grand Sport-class Audi S4 at the Grand Am Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Grand Prix de Trois Rivieres in Quebec, Canada, on August 14.

APR is the first team to campaign the Audi S4 anywhere in the world. The learning curve has been steep, and despite running in the top five at times, the team opted to withdraw the car for a few races to do more development.

The team has decided that the twisty Trois Riviers circuit will be the best venue for the revamped Audi’s return: the cars full-time all-wheel-drive should help it launch out of the courses many tight, slippery corners.

Along with the reworked car, APR will run with a revamped driver lineup: Dion von Moltke, a regular this season in the Rolex DP class, will return to APR, where he won three races in 2009. Ian Baas will return as the S4’s co-driver, a job he has done well all season long.

“The tight track, with low grip should really play to our strengths. Thanks to the Quattro all-wheel-drive, we get an excellent launch out of the corners” said APR Director of Motorsport Jeff Mishtawy in a press release.

“Combine that with our awesome driver line up and the developments made back at the shop, and we should be contending for a victory!”

“We’re absolutely ecstatic to have Dion back with us this weekend,” Mishtawy said. “Dion was here from the very beginning in 2008, and with us during our breakout 2009 season.
